Eliza Bennett Sews a Sculpture into her Skin
For A woman’s work is never done, english artist Eliza Bennett embroiders a self-inflicted sculpture into her flesh.
quote [Using my own hand as a base material, I considered it a canvas upon which I stitched into the top layer of skin using thread to create the appearance of an incredibly work worn hand. By using the technique of embroidery, traditionally employed to represent femininity and applying it to the expression of it’s opposite, I hope to challenge the pre-conceived notion that ‘women’s work’ is light and easy. Aiming to represent the effects of hard work arising from employment in low paid ancillary jobs such as cleaning, caring, and catering, all traditionally considered to be ‘women’s work’].

Cybersex by Arko Datto
With Cybersex, danish photographer Arko Datto documents women and men engaged in the virtual prostitution industry. (Cybersex gallery).
quote [Moving beyond the traditional use of a physical camera for social documentary work, I have used screenshots using a virtual camera to document moments in between paid sexual performances when they are on public view, searching for new clients. My aim with photography is two-fold. I want to push the boundaries of photography, question what it means to be a photographer in the digital age while simultaneously playing the role of observer and commentator on critical contemporary social issues".

Mount Huashan: World’s Most Dangerous Hiking Trail
quote [As wonderful as Chinese tea is, it is definitely not something you’d closely associate with exhilaration, adrenaline and the fear of death. Mount Huashan in China, however, manages to bring all of these things together by featuring a death-defying cliff-side mountain climb that brings daring visitors to a tea house 2,160 m (7,087 ft) up on the mountain’s southern peak].
